For the past 18 months, job seekers have experienced a shifting labor market and many uncertainties. Now, as professionals feel a greater sense of stability, many are reevaluating their current roles and priorities, and seeking out employers who can best meet their needs. Although insurance industry unemployment rose to 4.2% in July, we’re seeing an increasingly active recruiting climate.
As The Jacobson Group celebrates our 50th year of successfully connecting organizations with insurance talent, we're reflecting on our memories and journey to this point. Our achievements wouldn’t be possible without the incredible employees who work tirelessly toward writing our clients’ and candidates’ talent success stories. We asked our staff across all levels and tenures to share a bit about what makes them proud to work at Jacobson.
The need for interim talent is only growing. Seventy percent of executives plan to increase their use of on-site contract workers in the next two years, according to Gartner. Insurers are bringing in contractors to help handle heavy workloads, maintain productivity during new technology implementations, serve as subject matter experts in areas where they may lack in-house expertise, fill roles between full-time hires, and much more. As a contract worker, you’re able to benefit from flexibility, the ability to choose your projects, and the potential to gain insight and knowledge from a number of different teams and organizations.
Each month, we highlight a few of our corporate employees from across The Jacobson Group as they share a bit about themselves and their roles. Get to know these individuals below. As the school year ends, many new grads are starting their first professional positions. While internships and coursework have built a foundation for the professional world, there can be a steep learning curve for corporate culture and in-office best practices. We asked some of our recruiting leaders for their advice and tips to be prepared and put your best foot forward as you embark on your first role in insurance. Here’s what they had to say:
While most professionals have been working remotely for more than a year, it’s likely those aiming to make a career move are facing a fully remote interview process for the first time. In this new virtual journey, candidates must reevaluate how to make a positive, lasting impression, while also determining whether a position and company are a good culture fit. Without the ability to physically visit an office and experience its energy and employee interactions first-hand, how can prospective hires effectively gauge company culture?
The remote environment has brought on many unique challenges for leaders. Guiding teams, leaning into professional development and actively growing in your career all require a renewed focus and intentional approach to be effective. The Jacobson Group was proud to recently partner with Insurance Careers Month (ICM) to share how leaders can continue to thrive during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.
At Jacobson, we believe every employee’s contributions matter and impact the success of our organization, clients and candidates. In celebration of Employee Appreciation Day, we’re shining the spotlight on three featured employees. To all of our amazing team members, we want to say thank you for your hard work and dedication throughout the year!
